1/72 diorama kit, "Imprimerie Herge Et Fils". This model is part of an exclusive series of 1/72 scale military diorama kits only sold by Full Circle Hobbies. It will enhance any military or architectural art collection. Designed, sculpted and hand cast in a premium polyurethane resin by company owner David Gurinskas, this diorama model kit contains three high quality pieces requiring assembly, gluing and painting.

The building was inspired by a print shop that I used to work in, and is a typical style that can be found in most European or North American cities and towns. Although the building depicts a print shop, it can easily be made to resemble a grainery, brewery, slaughter house, etc, by making your own sign. ("Imprimerie Herge Et Fils" translates into English as "Herge And Sons Printing". "Depuis 1892" translates into English as, "Since 1892").

Unlike most dioramas that are manufactured for the military modeler, this kit represents an old building which hasn't been destroyed. Many photos of WW1 and WW2 show soldiers and their equipment passing through villages on the way to the Front with buildings untouched by the fighting. With this kit, you can create a scene which can show a lull in the fighting as troops relax, or are passing through a village. Maybe even add a bit of humour. The possibilities are endless.

Features of the diorama include a highly detailed solid resin base with a cobble stone street with a sewer grate and manhole cover, plus a brick paving stone section with narrow gauge track that leads to the shipping doors. Base measures 3 1/2" (90mm) wide x 5 3/8" (135mm) long x 11/16" (18mm) high.

The building front (resin cast sign included), measures 5 1/8" (131mm) long x 5 3/8" (137mm) high x 3/4" (19mm) thick. The total height of the diorama including the building and base, is 5 3/4" (145mm) tall, and is designed to fit any standard size shelf or bookcase. Felt pads for under the base are also included.

Each kit is carefully packed in bubble wrap inside it's own box. Shipping box dimensions are 9" (24cm) x 6 1/2" (17cm) x 4 1/2" (12cm) and weighs 1 1/4 lbs. (0.6kg.).

When ordering, remember that it's the price of the item plus shipping, that should be taken into account when judging the value of an item.

The diorama can accommodate a German Tiger Tank plus figures, or an opel cargo truck, motorcycles and figures.
